Christian highlanders — later known as the Marada — settled these wooded slopes of the Matn, giving the village its Syriac name Beth Kfaya, “the House of Stones.”

استقرّ سكّان الجبل المسيحيون — المعروفون لاحقاً بالمردة — على هذه السفوح الحرجية في المتن، فمنحوا القرية اسمها السرياني «بيت كفايا» أي بيت الحجارة.

The Gemayel family settled in Bickfaya and was entrusted with stewardship of the village and its northern hills, shaping its identity for centuries to come.

استقرّت عائلة الجميّل في بكفيا وأُوكلت إليها رعاية القرية وتلالها الشمالية، فرسمت هويتها على مدى قرون.

Father Antoun Gemayel raised the church of Mar Abda — the oldest in the village and the spiritual heart of a community that would build six historic churches.

بنى الأب أنطون الجميّل كنيسة مار عبدا — أقدم كنائس القرية والقلب الروحي لمجتمعٍ شيّد ستّ كنائس تاريخية.

Saint Michel (1592), Saint Georges of the Greek Catholics (1750) and the convent of Saydet El Najat (1836) with its church (1858) crowned the village in faith and stone.

كنيسة مار ميشال (1592) ومار جرجس للروم الكاثوليك (1750) ودير سيدة النجاة (1836) مع كنيسته (1858)، توّجت القرية بالإيمان والحجر.

Maurice Gemayel launched Lebanon’s beloved Flower Festival, drawing thousands each year and earning Bickfaya its title as the “Queen of the Matn.”

أطلق موريس الجميّل مهرجان الزهور اللبناني المحبوب الذي يجذب الآلاف سنوياً، فاستحقّت بكفيا لقب «درّة المتن».
